    Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (Act 2 of 2000)

    Introduction

    The Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2 of 2000 ("PAIA") gives effect to the constitutional right of access to any information held by the State, and any information held by a private body that is required for the exercise or protection of any right.

    This manual is prepared in accordance with Section 51 of PAIA and provides information on how to request access to records held by Spence Attorneys, Notaries & Conveyancers.

    How to Request Access

    Requests for access to records must be made using the prescribed form (Form 02 - previously Form C) and submitted to the Information Officer at the address above. The form must be accompanied by the prescribed fee.

    A requester must provide sufficient particulars to enable the Information Officer to identify the record and the requester.

    Fees

    A request fee of R50.00 is payable upon submission of a request. Additional fees may apply for search, preparation, and reproduction of records in accordance with PAIA regulations.
